February Drug Recalls – From Memphis Drug Recall Injury Attorneys

The following drugs were recalled in February, either voluntarily by the manufacturer or forcibly by the FDA.

RegenErect & RegenArouse:
Treatments for male erectile dysfunction; contained Tadalafil, which makes the drugs unapproved and was not listed on the labels.

Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets:
Used as an oral contraceptive; a packaging error placed some of the tablets in the wrong order.

Phenylephrine HCl Injection:
Used for maintaining blood pressure during anesthesia (among other things); recalled because of visible particles found in some samples.

Dietary supplements (misc):
A number of products meant to assist in dieting and weight loss were found to contain unapproved drugs Sibutramine (an appetite suppressant) and Tadalafil (for male erectile dysfunction). These two active ingredients were not listed on the labels. The recalled drugs include:

  •   Mince Belle
  •   Everlax
  •   Ever Slim
  •   Ever Slim Shake Mix (in strawberry and chocolate)
  •   Acai-Man Mangosteen Herbal Drink
  •   Perfect Men

Infants’ TYLENOL Oral Suspension, 1 oz. Grape:
An over-the-counter pain reliever and fever reducer; recalled after reports that its dosing system was too difficult to use.

Cytarabine for Injection:
An anticancer drug for acute non-lymphocytic leukemia; recalled after a manufacturing area investigation showed the product might not be sterile (aka kept clean enough during the manufacturing process).

“Koff & Kold” and “Kold Sore”:
Spray products for cold and flu symptoms as well as fever blisters and herpes; recalled because of labeling issues and health risks related to the products’ sterility.

Crickit® Convenience Kits:
A follow-up recall because these surgical and trauma kits contain the already-recalled povidone iodine prep pads.

Acetylcysteine Solution:
Used for tracheostomy and bronchosopy, to treat mucous secretion, and for patients who have ingested too much acetaminophen; recalled for potentially containing glass particles.
