Children deserve a safe bus ride to school and back home

By: Darrell Castle

Ten students and a bus driver have been sent to the hospital to be treated for injuries after a Shelby County Schools bus leaving Bolton High School crashed on Austin Peay and Old Brownsville road in Memphis.

An investigation of the accident is underway.

According to Action News 5, Tow driver Gary Bryant says the bus driver struck his truck along the shoulder. The bus then slammed into a tree ripping apart the roof above the driver.

Children are entitled to a certain degree of safety on the bus. They deserve to get from school and back home safely without any harm like this. Each injured child should be compensated for their pain and suffering, and especially their medical bills – they shouldn’t be held liable for this when it wasn’t their fault!
