Should I contact the other driver’s insurance company after an accident?
Not if you’re going to have a lawyer. If you’ve been injured, you need an attorney. That attorney should do all of that for you. You should not talk to them in any way if you have an attorney.
If you’ve made the decision not to hire an attorney, then yes, you’re going to have to talk to them. But just keep in mind that they’re not on your side; they’re on their side. So be very careful what you say to the other side’s insurance company – and my advice would be to get an attorney and let him deal with it for you. That’s not something you have to do when you have an attorney. That’s what he gets paid for.
