If you’re injured in a car accident on an icy street and it wasn’t your fault,

or you aren’t sure whose fault it was, you should speak to a car accident attorney immediately.

Mid-south residents woke up Thursday morning to snow and ice in their driveway and on the streets. And, as it typically tends to, it’s caused some havoc on the roadways as people commute to work and take their children to school.

Some examples:

One man died after being ejected from his vehicle during a car accident on Bill Morris Parkway, an icy sheet of road this morning.

Northbound I-240 was shut down at Lamar Avenue after a 10 car accident caused major cleanup.

Multiple school bus accidents have happened, leaving at least one child injured.

“Shelby County Fire has responded to 15 accidents since 6:00am,” said Shelby County Fire Department spokesman Brent Perkins.

This quote was posted at 9:00am, meaning those 15 accidents happened in a three hour span.

Folks, I wasn’t planning on having to write any content about driving safe on the icy streets this early into the year, but here it goes.

Take precautions when driving on icy streets. Drive slower and break quicker. You may think you’re invincible, but you’re not.

Weather.com
mentions these two tips and a lot more in their great “Driving Safety Tips” resource.

I’ve also created a good resource that you’d be wise to keep on hand. Go here and download my Car Accident Checklist. It’s a FREE resource that you can print out and keep in your car. Then, in the unfortunate case you’re in a car accident, you have a checklist of everything you need to do at the scene.

As always, if you’re injured in a car accident and it wasn’t your fault, or you’re not sure whose fault it was, contact an experienced car accident attorney. That attorney will look at your case detail by detail, find who was liable and determine whether or not you’re entitled to compensation and how much.

You need an attorney you can trust. One who’ll fight to get you compensation while walking and talking you through every step of the process.
