An Update on Our Memphis CPAP Lawsuit

After Phillips CPAP machines broke down and released toxic foam particles into untold thousand of people’s lungs, the company recalled millions of machines.
As a result, for many months people languished without any treatment for their sleep apnea and other breathing issues. For some people, this can result in major health issues.
The recall, which happened in July 2021, came with a promise to replace the machines quickly with something safer. However, to this day, they still haven’t replaced 2.2 million devices.
The company claims they will ship 90% of the rest by the end of the year. It’s still unclear if they’ll be successful, but even at 90%, that still leaves hundreds of thousands of people without a safe CPAP machine.
The Number of CPAP Injury Cases Continues to Rise
Those people—the millions of folks without a safe way to breathe at night—have grown angrier since the original discussion around these devices. And the number of reported injuries from the recalled machines has grown exponentially.
Countless Americans may have been made severely ill by these machines. We still don’t know the final toll.
In fact, the overwhelming amount of people impacted led to legal action. On September 14, 2022, the US District Court in charge of the case announced a Philips CPAP lawsuit census registry. They hope this list will help them keep up with the massive numbers of people claiming they’ve been injured by these CPAP machines.
