Big companies are opening new stores in Memphis, bringing optimism to a city that notoriously struggles with unemployment.

Bass Pro Shop recently accounced a new opening date – May 1st – for its new massive Pyramid store. From February 2-4, Bass Pro will host a job fair at the Cook Convention Center. It hopes to fill more than 600 full-time and part-time jobs.

Back in December, Target chose Memphis as the location where it’ll open its new $50 million distribution center. This center is expected to create more than 400 jobs, and will begin hiring in early 2015.

Earlier this month, IKEA was awarded the tax break it needed to open a store here in Memphis. IKEA officials estimate the store will open in late 2016. The store plans to hire 175 full-time employees earning an average annual salary of $40,000. There will also be around 100 part time employees.

For Memphis folk, this means options.

As a bankruptcy attorney here in Memphis, I’ve seen the effects both unemployment and insufficient income can have on a family.

When money is tight, payments can be easily missed. And when you continue to miss payments, debt piles up and becomes uncontrollable. The worry and stress can become too much to bear.

However, these 3 big companies are bringing a lot of jobs to Memphis.

If you’re unemployed, one of these jobs could mean a more stable income.

If your current job isn’t providing enough money to pay the bills, these jobs could mean a BETTER income, or a second source of income to supplement what you’re already making.

Yes, there’s a limit of jobs available with these companies, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying. And these aren’t the only companies hiring now or in the near future. Watch the news and stay aware of new job fairs. Take the initiative to change your situation.

Are you struggling financially?

If you’re struggling with debt you just can’t pay, talk to an experienced bankruptcy attorney.

By filing for bankruptcy, you can get rid of your dischargeable debts without paying them back through a Chapter 7. Or you can lump your debts into an affordable 3-5 year repayment plan through a Chapter 13. Each chapter comes with its own qualifications and benefits that your attorney can explain.

You may not want to file for bankruptcy. You may either be scared of what people will think about you or you don’t think it’s right for you. But I bet you aren’t aware of all the benefits and what it can do for your life.

By contacting our office today, you can schedule a FREE one hour consultation with an experienced bankruptcy attorney. In this consultation, you’ll learn about bankruptcy, its benefits and how it can help you in your unique situation.
