I read some welcomed news for Memphis when the Commercial Appeal announced new jobs are on the way.
Connextion Point — a company specializing in serving Medicare and Medicaid customers of some of the nation’s largest health insurers — will open a 400-employee call center in Memphis.
These jobs come with very good timing.
Just a month ago, Conduit Global announced it was laying off 600 employees from its Memphis call center. Those who haven’t found new jobs yet will be able to apply for an opening at Connextion Point.
The company will open up shop at 1769 Paragon Place at the Nonconnah Corporate Center by the airport.
About 350 of the 400 employees will be insurance agents earning $15 an hour if they’re licensed. They’ll earn $10 an hour if they’re not licensed. Job benefits include health insurance and a company program paying for agents to get their license.
The call center plans to train the first wave of employees the third week in June with an opening in mid-August.
