Hello, this is Darrell Castle. I’m an attorney licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee and on this video I’m talking about a dangerous drug and that drug is Lipitor.
Lipitor happens to be the most prescribed drug in all of human history – more prescriptions for Lipitor have been written than any other drug in history.
Lipitor has been prescribed for high cholesterol problems, and today I especially want to talk to women because the FDA has warned about this. For women who take Lipitor, there is a danger that it will cause diabetes in perfectly-healthy women.
There is also some evidence that Lipitor is not even necessary for woman but I advise you not to stop taking it, unless you talk to your doctor. If you’re on any kind if prescription medication, never stop taking it unless you consult with your doctor first.
But there’s some evidence here that Pfizer, the company that makes Lipitor, simply invented the disease – high cholesterol in women – to sell a drug that wasn’t necessary.
The parameters are that if you’re a women and you take Lipitor…and you develop diabetes after taking it…and you have no history of Cardiovascular Disease…then you might want to see somebody about that because you’re probably entitled to compensation.
With that said, don’t stop taking it until you consult with your doctor, but if you’re taking it and you’ve developed diabetes, then you’ve probably already stopped taking it.
But, if you’re a woman and you have no history of Cardiovascular Disease and you take Lipitor and have developed diabetes after taking it, then you fit into a category and really need to see somebody about that because there’s probably compensation in it for you, folks.
