Men’s Health Magazine has nominated two Memphis favorites – Gus’ Fried Chicken and Rendezvous – for manliest restaurant in America.

While the entire concept and title for “manliest” restaurant is in itself rather ridiculous, Memphis has many other places for men to hang out that belong on the list. So if you’re looking for a guys’ night out but you’ve been to Gus’ already and found Rendezvous too touristy, try a couple of our favorites instead:

The Daq Cigar and Sushi Bar – Located on Hacks Cross just south of 385, Daq is a great new place that has a 4K square foot smoke-free courtyard and 2K square foot cigar room, all with state-of-the-art ventilation, a piano bar, and sushi.

Havana Mix – For cigars downtown, try the Havana Mix Cigar Emporium.

Central BBQ – For ribs, how about central BBQ? It’s no frills with great food. Plus we know the owner.

Texas de Brazil – Eat too much meat and feel sick afterwards, like a real man, at Texas de Brazil downtown. (Caution: their website plays pretty loud music when you open it. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.)

Other favorites: Flying Saucer, Celtic Crossing
