No it’s not expensive to hire a lawyer for a Workers’ Compensation claim; in fact, it costs nothing unless he’s successful in helping you obtain a lump sum benefit. He gets nothing from your ongoing weekly wages. He only recovers lump sum benefits for you, and from that he can charge a small fee.

That’s limited by the law in Tennessee to a very small percentage. It varies from state to state, but in every state it’s very small compared to the benefits.

So he can only charge you if he’s successful, and most of the time that lawyer will more than pay for himself.
