Are you not sure who’s liable for your car accident? By: Darrell Castle You were injured in a car accident but you don’t know if it was your fault or the other drivers’, or if it was partially both. You need to contact an experienced car accident attorney immediately. In some car accident cases, the liability is completely obvious. In others, it’s not. A car accident attorney will be able to look at your case, detail by detail, and determine who was liable and whether or not you’ll receive compensation for damages. There are some important questions the attorney will need answered: 1. Were there any witnesses to the accident? 2. Is the liable driver insured? 3. If the
Check your accounts – bank and credit card. Do you see a weird charge on there for $9.84? If so, your account has been compromised. The Better Business Bureau has issued a SCAM ALERT, one in which con artists are hoping their victims either don’t check their account statements, or will look right over this small charge. Don’t be victimized. Check all of your accounts closely and make sure this charge isn’t in your statements. If it is, notify your bank or credit issuer and contest the charges. You may want to do your own investigating, but this is how the scam works: You go online to view your account and you see a strange charge for $9.84 with an
You may have seen a rather outrageous story passed around the internet recently about a registered nurse who left a 95-year-old dementia patient in her car for over 2 hours while she gambled at a casino. Authorities took the elder to a hospital for observation after a woman saw her sitting in the car and called the police. Doctors say she showed no signs of distress – likely because of her dementia – but needed observation for some time. Police charged the caregiver with neglect. Elder neglect is a very dangerous crime, especially when the elder has dementia. Age increases the risks for dehydration and overheating. Dementia can cause the elder to walk off, even into the street, without realizing
While acetaminophen is one of the most common ingredients in headache medications, including Tylenol®, it’s also the #1 cause of liver damage in the US. This week, thousands of law students across the country tackled one of the final obstacles before becoming attorneys: they took the bar exam. “When I took the bar exam,” recalls our founding attorney Darrell Castle, “my thought process was something like this: failure is not an option. I didn’t spend three years of my life doing this to fail.” The exam lasts two days and is pass/fail. It covers such a wide range of legal issues that many students choose to study all day, every day for months to learn the laws they might have to remember for the test. That is why they are all favorites of ours this week. Congratulations on the accomplishment! Of course, many aspiring law
