Airbag and seat belt technology in this day and age are very sophisticated, but when they don’t work, bad things happen.
Yesterday, I told you a story about my drive down Wolf River in Germantown and my witnessing of a high-impact car accident in which an SUV full of teenagers collided with a parked truck. To my pleasure and surprise, no one appeared injured.
I chalk the seemingly nonexistence of injuries in this car accident to the use of seat belts and the abilities of the air bags that deployed. Though I’m not certain, it’s rational to conclude those two things saved these drivers and passengers from any bad injuries.
However, as a car accident attorney and a reader who stays current with the news, I’ve seen what can happen when these airbags and seat belts are faulty and fail to do their proper job. It’s not pretty.
It could’ve been a very ugly scene on Wolf River this weekend had either of the vehicles’ airbags or seat belts failed to do their job. There could’ve been serious injuries – possibly life-threatening ones.
When that happens, it’s important that the manufacturer of those parts is held responsible for their product. That’s why if you’re injured in a car accident and you think it’s due to a faulty airbag or seat belt, you should speak to an experienced personal injury attorney immediately.
An experienced personal injury attorney will investigate every little detail of your case, from studying the police report to hearing eyewitness testimony. The attorney will do what he or she has to do in order to find where the liability lies and who’s responsible.
If your injuries were in fact caused by a malfunctioning airbag or seat belt, then you should be entitled to compensation for medical bills, pain, suffering, lost wages from time off work and more.
It’s important to note though that when you’re placing the blame for your injuries on a car company, your injuries probably need to be catastrophic to have a good case. These car companies are powerful and will throw a lot of money at litigation, so the damages should be severe enough so that the risk is worth the reward. An experienced attorney will be able to determine how strong your case is.
You need an attorney who’s going to fight to get you the compensation you deserve. You need an attorney you can trust with your case. I talk more about what means here.
