The government has recently warned against something called “counterfeit airbags.” These airbags have been found either to deploy incorrectly or not at all. The problem could affect tens of thousands of drivers. Roughly 250,000 cars on the road are compatible with counterfeit airbags. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), you may be at risk of having faulty, counterfeit airbags if: You’ve gotten your airbags replaced within the last 3 years at a repair shop separate from a new car dealership. Bicyclist sent to hospital after hit by a truck By: Darrell Castle A 57 year old man was taking a routine bike ride in Texas after a truck accident. A truck driver pulled into his lane and appeared to clip him, sending Mark Cathey to the hospital, with a collapsed lung, five broken ribs and a broken scapula among other scrapes and bruises. For years, Cathey has been video-taping his bike rides, originally to showcase sights along his rides, but more recently for safety. Thank God he was recording this time around.
